Hi,
I think he invented something that made it easier to remove the concrete railroad tie from its form. Some kind of insert around the 'screw' or 'rebar' so it would slide out of the form. Sort of like one of those plastic wall anchors.
At least that's what I got out of reading the article. Could be wrong. He was only 35 years old at the time he applied for the patent!!!
